What are the weaving processes of woven fabrics
Woven fabrics have three weaving processes: plain, twill and satin.
1. Plain fabric is two yarns in the warp and weft directions, interwoven in a top-down pattern. That is to say, the warp yarn and the weft yarn are interlaced once every other. This weaving method has many interlacing points and many yarn buckling points, which makes the fabric more wear-resistant, crisp and flat, but with less elasticity, general gloss, good wear resistance and good air permeability.
2. The organizational structure of twill fabric is that the warp and weft yarns are interwoven at least once every two yarns. The warp and weft yarns change the fabric organizational structure by increasing the interlacing point and changing the structure layout, changing the 1 up and 1 down of plain fabric into 2 up and 1 down or 3 up and 1 down, etc., which is collectively referred to as twill fabric.
Because of the different organizational structures of the weaving methods, in the case of the same amount of yarn, the warp and weft intersection points of twill fabric are less than that of plain fabric, and the twill fabric yarn is also closely arranged, with a softer and thicker feel, and a stronger three-dimensional sense of the finished product, so it is widely used in the home textile kit industry.
3. Satin fabric, also known as satin fabric, is a fabric with relatively complex weaving process. In the weaving process, the warp and weft yarns should be interwoven at least once every three yarns. This process makes the intersection points of the warp and weft yarns less, the number of the warp and weft yarns less, and the length of the yarn between the joints floating on the surface is longer, making the surface of the fabric almost entirely composed of the warp or weft yarns, forming a unique fabric luster, and the finished product is delicate and soft.
The weaving process of satin fabric is higher than that of similar plain and twill fabrics, and the yarn count is also higher, so the finished product is more exquisite, with good gloss, smoothness and excellent touch.
